I believe the GAP to be on the shortlist for caliber life. I think if the police had gone with the GAP instead of the .40 it may have stood a chance. But as is, I do not see it gaining in popularity and becoming a common use caliber.
Just an opinion of course, someone else may have evidence to the contrary, but I doubt it.
An item to consider then is current and future ammo prices. I am a little out of the loop, but I believe the GAP is pricey compared to the ACP. I do not see the GAP ammo getting cheaper either. This makes it difficult to justify as a shooter in my book.
You might see if he will come down to $250 on the price, but I would personally have to think hard about paying even that for a like new .45 GAP.
