First Book Review

I'd like to reccomend this book in honor of my Mother. THE OLD MAN AND THE BOY by Robert Ruark is one of the finest books ever written about a young boy's hunting and fishing adventures, growing up in pre-Depression era Eastern North Carolina. If you can find this book and have a son or daughter who loves the outdoors... this is the finest book to get them, bar none. There is a sequel titled THE OLD MAN's BOY GROWS OLDER. Both of these titles can sometimes be found in a dual printing by Stackpole Books.
My Mother, back when I was an early teenager, saw my interest in THE OLD MAN AND THE BOY. She drove all the way to our state capital and checked out a copy of Ruark's sequel from the State Library for my 15th birthday. At that time, the book was out of print and the book I read was the 1st. printing.

Enjoy!

I know its not great literature but I collected all the John D. McDonald series of "Travis McGee" a "salvage" expert who helps people get back things that are theirs. And I have the entire Micky Spillane "Mike Hammer"series....Hammer was too cool!
