Don,

I have not noticed that sort of info on the Wolf website (www.wolfammo.com); however, I don't suppose that's much of a shock to anyone. They do have an email address: info@wolfammo.com

Hard to say whether they would release the powder specs or not.

I've considered sending them a note and asking why they don't mount their 154gr SP bullet (that they are using with the 7.62x39) on their 7.62x54 cartridges anyway. That might make a decent deer cartridge if they would invest some time testing loads. The Wolf 148gr FMJ cartridges shoot very well from my Mosins, so perhaps they (or you) will find a good SP bullet/load combination. I think that the Wolf 200gr SP is a bit on the heavy side.

Best of luck.

If you have the means to disassemble Wolf ammo and load & crimp a different bullet, why don't you just reload good brass cases with all new components that are known to be safe? I've been reloading for 30 years. I was told by an old timer when I got started that when I decided to take dangerous shortcuts, I had better just quit.

Fred is quite right, I'd just buy the brass and be done with it. The Wolf cases are made of steel, yes I realize is very soft steel but you are still doing more wear and tear on your dies than you want to. If you feel you need to proceed, I would think that you would be safe in not changing the powder load at all, and just changing the bullet. Going from a 200 down to a 165g. What range are you planning on hunting at? I would think that at 250 or less, at deer (mulie or whitetail) the 200g should be fine for hunting.

thanks guys
i think i am going with freds ideas and buy some new brass boxer prime
the steel cases or hard to reload sometime they crack at the neck
also i going to be shooting 100 yd or less here in alabama the woods or so thick in most areas that sometimes it 50 or less
also i going to use 30 cal bullets to reload with
so far it does a good job
thanks again
