my new black firearm

well so its not quite a rifle yet but it is considered a firearm for the purposes of BATF. If only the rest of it would come in the mail. The magpuls fit great and look a heck of a lot better than the faded GI mags

Nice gun! You're a couple steps ahead of me. All I've got right now is the stripped lower and two 30 round mags. I have a book and 500 bullets ordered from Midway that should get here Monday.

What do you intend to build it into?

That is the stage my second Black rifle is in. It may be like that for a bit.

Now the fun part begins!!! Deciding on an upper and get the barrel warmed up!

yeah this is my first AR so it will be a scoped basic flat top 16" CAR. my dad is building one too in the same setup. it will mainly be used for plinking, groundhogs, and the occasional coyote. we have a kit ordered at Model1 and at Blackthorne. the first one to arrive is his since he paid for both kits. blackthorne was ordered on Nov 7 and the Model 1 kit was mid to late Nov. i paid a little extra for these mags compared to a few months ago but i was still cheaper than the 30+ a piece on gunbroker. but id rather have then a pay more than want them and not be able to get them.
