Well I Celebrated........

......our new Prez getting sworn in by buying a Mossberg Model 88 the same day!

I picked up a Field model with 28" barrel. Under 200 out the door I'm happy with my first shotgun. I plan on shooting buckshot, some birdshot and slugs. I am going to get a 18-1/2" barrel soon. It looks like that barrel has a fixed choke and nor removable? I was wondering if someone can shed some light on the different chokes available. I wish Mossberg covered this a little more in the manual.

I had a 88 until it got stolen. Don't remember how long the barrel was, but it did have interchangeable chokes. You can get improved cylinder, modified, improved modified, full, turkey and maybe some more. They use the same chokes as the 500, the accu-choke. You can get the chokes from wal-mart, dicks or most other stores that have guns, just look around. The mossberg website will have all these things. The chokes cost around $20.
