Personally, I think it might just be a typo? Why, because when I looked at all the SP 101 revolvers currently available, none are chambered in 9mm. Then I did a search, and I did it for revolvers, double action, SP 101, stainless (only option), then under caliber, 9mm isn't even a choice.

Click on the drop down box for caliber, 9mm not there as a choice or option to search for.
http://ruger.com/Firearms/FAProdSearch?bct=No&SearchIn=All&type=Revolver&sub type=Double+Action&family=SP101%AE&variation=Varia tion&caliber=Gauge%2FCaliber&finish=Finish&blength =Barrel+Length

To be honest, I've never heard of or seen any brand revolver in 9mm. That be one mighty short cylinder. Not that it would affect anything being short. lol

I don't believe the moon clips would work for standard rimmed cartridges such as 38 or 357. The moon clip takes the place of the cartridge rim on the automatic cartridges.

back in the early 90's, ruger produced the sp-101 in 9mm............i'm not sure when it was discontinued......

the ruger moon clip ad is not a typo, it states it is for the 9mm revolvers and can't be used to convert a 357 to a 9mm.

moon clips for a 357 sp 101 can be obtained from several sources and are for a sp-101 that has already been custom modified by a gunsmith to accept the moons. Involves removing metal from the cylinder.

here are some sources............

these outfits will do the conversion
Moon Clip Conversion - Clark Custom Guns, Inc.

Pinnacle-Guns.com: Pinnacle High Performance Custom Gunsmithing

and these will sell the moons

Ten-Ring Precision, Inc.

Welcome to TK Custom.com & Moonclips.com

hope this helps........

They really ought to make one in 9mm. If a shooter does not want to shoot .357mag, then why have the added length? I had a chance to shoot one of those on a trip to Las Vegas with .38sp. (They did not allow .357 at their indoor range.) They are really nice.
