muzzle brake???

i am looking into getting a muzzle brake and am wondering about installation/quality/safety due to the various types. i have a simple norinco. i know i cannot use the yugo types. here are some that i have found:

SKSMAN Muzzle Brakes AK brakes SKS Maxi Brakes MAK-90 Brakes AK-47 Brakes
SKS Muzzlebrakes "AK74 Style"*|*e-GunParts.com
AK-74 Muzzlebrake For SKS Rifles*|*e-GunParts.com

from the second link, the last one with the two screws looks like it would hold secure.
the last link is the lock-around-the-frontsight type with a little screw to hold it in place. seems the most simple to attach.
the others use a pin to hold them in place.

any thoughts, experiences of which type is good, better, best?

thanks

The ones held on by allen screws are known for getting shot off the end of your SKS. You really need to weld one on or thread your barrel for one.

I have a pinned one on my Chinese. It slides around the FSB, and is secured through the original sight base hole. It has never been a problem.....

is there any noticeable difference whether it is on or not? does it significantly reduce muzzle rise?
thanks

I am afraid to get one after all I have read about them getting blown off the end of the barrels. I wanted one for purely cosmetic reasons, but not that bad!

it looks like if you take it off and blow into the front end you could use it as a whistle.

i am more curious about if these actually work as they say they do, not a must have item. curiosity for the most part.
thanks for comments.

Muzzle brakes work if they stay on and stay aligned.
