1875 Schofield revolver

Does anyone know who makes the best modern day reproductions of the 1875 Schofield Top break revolver?

Navy Arms?
Uberti? or someone else?

And besides over length, are there any other differing characteristics between the full sized army model vs the shorter WellsFargo version and the shorter still Hideout model?

Cimarron sells Uberti's. I think the Navy Arms is Uberti also. Cimaron will have better finish but will be priced accordingly. The only bad thing I've heard about them is they left off the cylinder bushing to make the cylinder longer and the result is it doesn't handle black powder well. Which is kind of ironic. A pistol designed for bp that won't function with bp.

Most of the replica Shofields out there are made by Uberti.
I think Beretta makes one too, albieit Beretta owns Uberti.

Didn't Smith and Wesson come out with one a few years ago that was supposed to be closer to the real thing in overall dimensions????

They take the .45 long colt now.In the originals we had to cut Colt cases down to make the S&W case. Those were strictly BP too,the repro,s are smokeless. sam.
