Mini 14 Range Report

I took my new mini 14 to the range today. I learned a few things, like the open sites are better then the old ranch rifle i had in the 80's. That 1 after market mag does not work, it will fail to feed. That the RR does not eject 55 jhp wolf ammo nor 62 grain goldenbear. And lastly I had to max out the sites, all the may up and all the way to the left to hit the bull at 50 yards. Accuarcy was better then I thought, about 1-1.5 with peeps.

I had the same problems with my newer one. It needs some break in time. After about 100 rounds, it started working properly. The only good aftermarket magazines for the Mini-14 out now are the newer steel Promags. If you can preorder, Midway USA has the Ruger Factory mags at $30 available for preorder.
