Talking I just have to brag!!!!!!!!!!

The other B of B 'n B
Last summer we worked really hard in one spot of the yard. Took out the irises and replaced them with 12 snapdragons . A gopher moved in and over the last few months has eaten all but two snaps So I started as soon as we noticed him or her to hunt for it.

Gopher hunting is long and hard work. Whenever you notice a new hole or any fresh holes you need to get your gun and wait near the hole. Then you wait for it to stick it little head out of the hole, aim and fire.

Well today was the day for that guy. Now I just have to get the other two(at lease) in the main garden.

A woman's work is never done.

Here's my pistol, a Rugar .22 Mark III, I love it.

LOL, we used to find the other end of the hole, pour gasoline down it, light it up, and wait for it with a shotty at the other end... worked, most the time anyway. The other times it was a near miss to the ER! Fun times. We were stupid.

I must say...I have never had to experience the nuances of a gopher-but now that I mentioned that, watch them crop up everywhere, LOL. Way to go BnB!!!

If you are in an area you can't shoot in,fill a gallon milk jug with water and watch for him to go in the hole.Pour the water in by turning the jug upside down and holding the mouth in the hole.Be ready with the cap and when he runs up in the jug, turn it up right and put the cap on.What you do with him after that is up to you.(I am slightly sadistic when it comes to gophers.) sam.
