Hello there!

Welcome to G&G. I see you're in the NV section. Does that mean you're near Vegas, or up North? That will determine some of our answers, after all.

You might also call up the folks at American Shooters at 3440 Arville Street. (702) 362-1223. Very nice, knowledgeable and I believe they do training if what I've seen there is any indication.

Welcome to G&G liciouz from a fellow Las Vegan. What type of firearms courses are you interested in taking?

As Coeloptera stated American Shooters is a source for trainning both at their Arville and Henderson stores. If you goto a gun show you can find people with booths set up that offer various courses from general hunters safety all the way up to advanced hand gun courses.
Searching the NRAs website is another good source as Glock Meister stated.
They will be teaching courses out at the new Clark County Shooting park when it opens this summer and those classes should be pretty affordable.

thanks for all the info folks. excited to say that i finally purchased my first handgun - xdm 9mm.

quick question on las vegas law on firearm - from what i understand, i can have a loaded firearm in my house/car even without a ccw. correct? exceptions are north las vegas and boulder city. now, once the clark county shooting park opens which will be in north las vegas, how will that work?

thanks for the info

Welcome to G&G liciouz. You picked a nice handgun. I see you got several places to check on training. Good luck.

The City of North Las Vegas has talked about removing the law from the books as far as transporting firearms. However if you were to be transporting the firearm to the shooting park your safest bet is to have it unloaded and in a carrying case (original case). Wouldn't hurt to have it in the trunk of your car or behind the seat of your truck.
