Well Izhevsk is closer to the city that I was born in so I like the rifles from there better. Tula is more deeper towards European border. BTW that is why Izhevsk produced more rifles, since it was farther from Nazi during the war. Thus more secure.

whats up everyone?im new to the forum....i only own a izzy, but if shot tulas,......i will say i prefer the hex because it has closed in reciever that seems it would keep more debris out.... and the squared body allowed me to mount a nice aluminum(black) scope mount, with a bushnell 4x-12x wide angle scope......like i said it makes it alot BETTER for me anyway... since im new here is some info on my....... Mosin Nagant ..........ive got the scope set right above the bolt handle(i like my scope up close)and i think it just makes the rifle look better set all the way back...my local gunsmith did all the custom work..shaved bolt handle, drilled and tapped reciever, for scope mount....its all numbers matching made in 1921?? does that mean anything?? go to my youtube to check my scoped mosin out......ITS MY SNIPER RIFLE THATS KEEPING THE LOOK AND HISTORY OF THE MOSIN.....

Tex-"My Izzy 91/30 was my first Mosin and I am very fond of it! It talks to me during the night. It wants me to feed it Bulgarian Heavy ball!"

So how is it that you ended up dating a Heavy Bulgarian that wants to be fed all the time ?? Coincidence ?? I think not !!

I don't think it's a matter of one being absolutely better than the other... there are different time periods where where there are more of one and less of the other and that can affect the "value", but I wouldn't turn one down based solely on the armory UNLESS you are building a specific collection... "I just need a Tula hex from 1932..." or whatever...

but if you are just looking for your first shooter, considering armory choice is way down the list of things to REALLY worry about.
