Pond Creek Squirrel Hunt

Has anyone heard of the big hunt that's the first full weekend of December at Pond Creek National Refuge, (just north of Ashdown AR). I've been invited to go camping up there for the weekend with a co-worker and friends and am already planning on taking vacation that week. From what I'm told, most people show up early Sat or Late Fri and clear out late Sunday. Just about everyone brings a squirrel dog as well. As far as I know, the date is set for Dec. 5th and 6th weather permitting. There is no charge for camping. There's two camp sites (that I know of) and neither one has any running water, bathrooms, or porta potties. So come with a shovel and TP.

Hey TAT I've never heard of this event before. I wonder how big a turn out they'll have.
Sounds like fun.

A co-worker of mine told me about it. We've both got our vacation spots on the calendar for it and are planning on taking a pop up camper. Most guys bring their squirrel dogs. From what my buddy said, the two camp sites are packed, so you better come early and pick a good spot!
