Halloween math problem

Bob lost one third of his ammo while running away from the wicked witch of G&G. He then lost three fourths of his ammo when he ripped his bag. He only has 15 rounds left. How many bullets did he have in the beginning.

This is a word problem of one of my kids, I just changed the words around. Any math guru's out there?

My answer is 180. Ok, here's how I figure...

15 = 1/4 of the amount he had remaining. Therefore he had 60 at that point.

60 = 1/3 of the total amount. Therefore he had 180 to begin with.

90 is correct. Oxford made a mistake. He only lost 1/3 at first, not 2/3.

Well I'm not sure? But I think if I ripped my bag I would not care if I had any ammo or not...

It's 90, and most people think I'm a math guru, as I can usually do the math before they can on a calculator.

I told the boy to bring home the right answer today with the explaination. From other folks here I have 180, 90, 100. He was feeling kind of bad about it (8th grade) I told him not to worry about it, we managed to confuse some adults

MATH?

LIKE THE STANDARD QUESTION. DIVIDE 30 BY ONE HALF AND ADD 10? (ANSWER 70)

OR I HAVE TWO COINS IN MY POCKET THAT ADD UP TO 55 CENTS AND ONE OF THEM IS NOT A NICKLE. WHAT ARE THE TWO COINS? (ANSWER 50 CENT PIECE AND A NICKLE. THE OTHER ONE IS A NICKLE)

sorry to leave ya'll hangi'n. Been busy.
The correct answer is 90. Son didn't go into detail on how, but the 90 theory here makes sense.
