Unhappy Happened Too Close To Home..

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - A man grabbed a deputy's gun in the lobby of a county courthouse Wednesday and shot and wounded an officer, authorities said. Another deputy shot the gunman, who died at a hospital.

The officer, Matthew Wright, 30, was hit in the calf, police Detective Carol Johnson said. He was treated at a hospital and released.

Sheriff Dave Vore said the man grabbed and fired the gun after setting off a metal detector. The man then left the courthouse and was confronted outside by a deputy who shot him, Vore said.

He died later at a local hospital, hospital spokeswoman Nancy Thickel said.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Wright was the officer whose gun was grabbed.

Vore said he didn't know why the man had gone to the building. Dayton police were interviewing witnesses to try to figure out why he went there, spokeswoman Carol Johnson said.

Authorities would not immediately identify the gunman.

they don't allow any guns in the court room down here. even the cops have to check in thier guns at the door. I guess it works out good like that no guns no accidents. after you give the gaurd you'er gun they walk you through metal detector .if you pass then you can enter the court room.

Good Riddance!

Howdy,

It is sad that the BG got the gun and shot a cop in the leg, but it is good that another Deputy capped his arse! Good Riddance to bad rubbish!

Now the county will save thousands in running the BG through the system, most likely to only turn him out on the street, rehabilitated. Criminals do more good pushing up the daisies than when alive.

Well, at least THIS BG won't have any appeal process to prolong the sentence....
