buying a 480

Out of curiosity what would be a good price for a used 480? I haven't seen it yet but a co-worker is selling his 480 with 400 rounds of brass to boot for 400.00. I am not sure whether it is the Alaskan or the Redhawk yet but my guess is it's the redhawk model. Is this too much for a used 480 or am I getting a deal?

thats not a bad deal at all. I think I paid around 600 for mine and that was in a taurus raging bull. so if you can get it for that in a ruger thats a good deal, esp with the brass to boot.

Sounds like a steal to me. Aren't the .480's all Super Redhawks? The ones I see are all $600 or more. Hundred bucks or more in brass. In fact if you don't buy it I would be interested. I'm in Portland, PM me.

I believe they only made them in the Super Redhawk like madcratebuilder said. My friends wife bought one for him when they first came out. He says it's punishing to the hands but he likes it. I think $400.00 is a great deal.

Tough question

This is more of a specialty round than a real marketing success.
I would low ball (I'm a negotiator) and start off about $300.00 if you find someone wanting to sell.
