If your right patriot it will be a buyers market at some point when people feel like their security blanket is useless .When and if this happens my vault may need some upgrading . Perhapes some horizonal shelving stacked 6 or 8 high . I would buy every Ak , Rpk and AR I could get my dirty little hands on. As you said it will happen again and this time I could cash in and let the gundealers know how it feels .

I went to Acadamey and they didnt have one box of 22lr...not much of anthing else either. I went about 2 blocks to walmart knowing they wouldnt have any , but what the heck. Got there and they had 2 boxs of Remington 22s (550 per box ) and about 12 boxs of the Federals(550) a box. Both were about $13.88 a box. Being that I already have lots of 22's, I only bought 2 boxs of each , plus lots of stingers.

I don't really mean to sound like a wise guy but, I have to say, I saw this coming and stocked up on the calibers I use starting about a year ago. It's hard to judge sometimes but, if you watch the price of an item over time...you'll see there is a point that availability will become a problem.

I went to walmart again last night and they are still out. Except for some remington .22 mag ammo they had NO rimfire ammo. The've replaced it with what little rifle and shotgun ammo they have. But they were restocked on guns!

dont have that problem here, we would sell larger caliber ammo before .22 ammo goes out.

^ I do that with basspro and midway usa. They are the places I usually buy ammo, but I've been shocked to not have any rimfire ammo at walmart.

Man, I just bought a new .38 and I cannot find any PD rounds and everyone says that they don't know when they will get any. I am thinking we are in real trouble. I did get 100 rds of target ammo so I can shoot it.

What the heck happened to all the .380 ammo. I bought a Kel Tec CCW the otherday. They only had 2 boxes of Wolf and a couple of some other off brand. I can get some from my brother-in-law because he has a little. Maybe that will buy me time to find some. Olus we have a gun show down here this weekend. Maybe I can get some their.

good luck. I am "ok" on ammo, but I continually buy more every time I go into a store that sells. I generally only go into Wally world once a month or so, I try very very hard to avoid it. They have been cleaned out here the last 2 times I went in. Mainly I am just buying 22lr now.

Just as an update on the walmart price i went in there yesterday to pick up some Remington STS clay shooting targets and looked at ammo and for a small 200 or so box of winchester was 15 bucks when its usually about 8 or 9.

Plenty of ammo here locally in PA. Wal-Mart's slackin because they're downsizing a lot of their outdoors sections. Carried too many item that weren't selling. I personally think the ammo manufacturer's were the one's who were pushing the whole "Obama's gonna take your guns and ammo!" scare. I mean look at it, record profits. If you want more ammo, contact the manufacturer.

Walmart here has actually added to there camping and gun section.

They still can't keep .22 ammo though.
