That ought to create enough pressue to blow the bolt back into your face. There are limits for a reason. Not a good idea!
Think again about what you're going to do; and then don't do it.

You can get 30/06 (and .308) with 220 gr bullets but it is about the heaviest limit for it.
To think about a 220 gr in a 7.62x39 is fine...to actually do it is stupidity.

glen1, what rifle do you propose to shoot this round from? I'd really like to know.

Whichever gun you pick, may I suggest you fire it from a gun vise, using a very long string to pull the trigger? The receiver may stand up to the pressure, but I kind of question whether any semi-auto rifle's bolt will take it.

Can we have Before and After pictures of the rifle, the bolt and the round, please? This is an interesting experiment, but potentially a very dangerous one.

Cool Big Bullets for the 7.62x39

Very interesting, especially the link on the large bullets being used in the AR15 with it's 2.26 cartridge length limitations. Seating a large bullet so far down into the case goes against everything I was ever taught about reloading, but then the earth used to be flat too.

One of the links led to "Sub-Caliber" adapters. At one time I had a "Marbels" or "Marvels" adaptor for 30-06. You clipped a .32 auto in to the front of it.

well since we are dealing in facts, what pressures did your load generate?

i dont no ,all i do no is it shoots fine .I was shooting coke cans at 20m with open irons. an the fact is it can be done and has been done .it didnt kick any more than a 150gr doing 2120fps .and didnt create enough pressue to blow the bolt back into my face .and the load didnt have to be a sub soinc, like i said this round has been made for shooting hogs that are bailed up. And most shots will be taken at 10m .so now i have a good hard hitting round for up close. the 125gr just didnt cut it. so fact is it works

Cool 220gr. Bullets in a 7.62x39

Hmmm... I still want a .458 SoCom. I like big bullets, but I like them big in diameter.

agreed, since you have no idea of what kind of pressures your generating you are in dangerous territory. just because it doesnt "blow the bolt back" in your face, doesn't make it safe!

Glen1,
Where is the 220gr load data!?!?! 2morro has come and gone. At least can you share what powder you used? And, on what platform you tested your load? The EBR guys say it cycles a AK platform! I am so curious!
