I'm interested in getting a fully supported aftermarket .40 S&W barrel for my G23. I've done a little bit of research on the web and most barrels I see online are going for $100-$140. I don't have a problem with the price, but I do have a problem identifying which brand would be the go to choice.
I'm also very interested in hearing about the accuracy improvements users have noticed with a barrel swap. Lastly has anyone purchased an after market barrel that is ported for the regular G23 not the G23c and what experiences good and bad have been discovered in terms of noise, recoil, accuracy......etc
lone wolf distributors sells their brand for 99.95
i hear another good brand is kkm and in my opinon bar-sto is overpriced and overrated but to go cheap you cant beat lone wolf
I do not own one but a friend of mine does and it is a little more accurate than my g17 so i would say accuracy is great

I did come across KKM and their prices were sane as well. The only thing that I dont like about the wolf barrels is the logo on the barrel. I just personally don't want a little wolf icon sitting on top my barrel. IMO cartoon characters plastered on my weapon is just not a good or cool thing.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if you get a ported barrel, don't you have to remove slots in your slide as well???? And GLOCKS are perfectly accurate without trying to change a barrel out. The rest is in you!
Lone Wolf make some very high quality barrels. I have a 9mm conversion in my G27 and my G23. Both shoot much better than stock. and the feed ramp is on a little less of an angle. so feeding of hollow points is easy. with the two conversion barrels, I now have a G26/27 and a g19/23.
if you do not like the wolf logo then go with the kkm like i say only heard good things about them someone elese may have more info on them then i do, but if i ever get one then it will be a kkm or jarvis, manly for the reason you have stated i also am not a fan of the wolf logo on the barrel

The stock barrel is plenty accurate for carry, but I have put many rounds through it and I notice a decrease in accuracy even if relatively slight. I also want the ability to put whatever load I want to in and go at it (which requires a fully supported barrel)
The ported barrels for non compensated glocks extendes about 3/4 inch out of the slide with 2 ports at the tip.

Thank you for the input! The information you have provided is just what I was looking for. I haven't ruled Wolf out completely. Many ppl have said positive things about their product and I do like the price and the look other than the goofy logo.
there really is not much of a difference i also noticed. Good thing is you can shoot lead bullets, in turn saving some money. The wolf barrel fully surports the case head so you have a tighter fit. If you take both barrels out and drop a rd in each you will find the wolf is snugger (for lack of a better word) than the Glock barrel.
For this reason i will only carry with the stock barrel. I will rather have that margin of error working for me, if you know what i mean. Besides i am not going to carry lead, when i can have FMJS.
But the wolf is a good barrel, and it does not reguire any fitting, (drops right in) i take it with me in my range bag and run some lead reloads in it, along with the factory barrel.
I recomend the Lone Wolf. With a different mag, you can get a conversion barrel and have a 9mm. On the 22 model. There are other conversion set ups for the other models of Glocks also.
I have a G35 and I got a Storm Lake barrel for it. Very high quality and very accurate. Dropped right in also. And right now, you can get a Storm Lake standard non ported barrel for your G23 for $98.48.

Yes, you have to have slots or a slot in your slide if you have/get a ported barrel.
FWIW, I think Glocks are perfectly accurate right out of the box with their stock barrels as well. And, I didn't change my barrel for accuracy issues. I changed it because the stock barrel wasn't ported and I wanted to take advantage of the slide cut out for a ported barrel.
