Need firing pin for Ranger .22 bolt action

I have looked high and low for a new firing pin for my Ranger I recently aquired. The only markings on the barrel are: Ranger 5440 Made in Mexico (made in Mexico should have thrown the red flag!). I know a number of manufactures may have made this gun, I hope that someone can confirm which one it was. The gun has a heavy barrel, tube fed and a bolt action. Thanks for your time!

Lee's gun parts in Irving, TX has a lot of odd and end parts. Do you still have the firing pin? Pretty simple job for a gunsmith to make one if you do.

A gunsmith can also make a new firing pin without the old one, but it costs less if they can just copy the old one.

You might also check with Jack First Gunshop in Rapid City, S. Dak. phone # 605-343-8481.
They have quite a variety and if they dont have they might be able to tell you who to get a hold of!

First, need to know yer city/state...so we can point you to a good gunsmith in yer area. TXfeller is right, a good gunsmith should be able to take the busted one & make a new one.

Second, on the cross-reference chart there isn't a model 5540...hope that's the serial number Might need to disassemble it and check EVERYWHERE for numbers...hopefully you'll find a set that helps

Third, if you can, take a few pics of it and upload it to the gallery here...then put a link up here to it Might be that we can recognize it from a few good pics if we can't get a Model #
