Idea to raise money for G&G

I was thinking about ways to raise some money for the website we all enjoy so much. I do a lot of work with Charities through my job so I came up with an idea. It seems we all have a large selection of guns, ammo, books, bullets, brass and a million other things. Most of us probably have gun supply things we haven't even put our hands on for years. How about setting up a forum similar to the Trading Post forum or even a sub-forum in The Trading Post where we sell un-needed items and a portion, or all, of the money goes right back to G&G to help Chris keep his costs down? Maybe let the seller decide if all, 50% or 25% of the money goes back to G&G. I know I buy a lot of cast bullets and if two people were selling them but one was sending the money back to G&G I would buy from that person first. This would let us say "Thank You" to Chris and would give him more resources to let this website grow as our membership grows. Plus, it will give you more room in your gun closet so you can go buy more cool stuff. What does everyone think?

Sounds like a great idea. I like the way you think.

I think it would be a great way for those of us that want to buy things to buy cheap, those who want to sell things to sell and help Chris keep this great site running all at the same time. I know I would buy a lot more if I knew the money was going to help keep this site running. Chris, if you need help to Moderate this forum I'm in too. Send me a PM.

I don't have anything much I could contribute, but I'd be an interested buyer.

If it requires a FFL why not just have it shipped to a dealer the same as if you bought a gun on Gun Broker or Bud's? Just let the purchase price be one deal between buyer and seller and then buyer pay the FFL like any other sale.

I think we would be OK on the FFL shipping. The libality would be on the FFL holder. There might be some libality if we sold reloaded ammo but just selling bullets, brass etc should be OK. Then there is many other items. Holsters, cases, magazines, dies, ammo boxes and about a million other things we all have. It might not hurt to put a disclaimer on the top of the forum in the form of a sticky thread saying that all responsibility lies between buyer and seller and that Gun & Game is just advertising the service. Even make the sending of the money on the honor system. I think most of our members are honest people and will do the right thing to help keep out site growing.

Tshirts sounds like a good idea. I was just thinking today about printing up a Tshirt that has my signature on it. And maybe a G&G advertisement on the back or something like that. Or buy the G&G shirt, and print on the front! Who knows, but its a great idea.

How about a combonation of both? Make the forum selling any gun related stuff as discussed here and make G&G T-Shirts one of the many items we sell. The more items being sold will be more money eaised to support G&G.

Sounds good to me! How about services? Like doing a repair, and giving the money for the repair to Chris?

That is a great idea. That would be something someone (person doing repair) could donate with no out of pocket cost and still being Chris some money for our great website. I think we are onto something good here. Chris, we just need you to approve it. If you set up the forum I think we could raise some money. I would be happy to serve as one of your Mods in this forum too.
