kel-tec sucks
the first pistol that i ever bought was a pf-9 and this was at the beginning of the summer. i loved this gun when i got it. took it to the range one day (about a month after i bought it) went to shoot it and nothing. took it to the gunsmith and found out my firing pin broke. got that fixed in about a week, week and a half at most. then went back to the range, and not two mag later in the middle of shooting my slide came flying off, i looked and my assembly pin snaped in two. I havent even shot 500rds through this gun. I have been waiting for almost three months now for this part. I have called kel-tec a number of times, e-mailed them a number of times, and my gunsmith has ordered this part a couple of different times!! so if you are in the market for a new gun i would NOT buy a kel-tec product if i was you!!!

Reason: spelling
Though this qualifies as simply anecdotal evidence, I submit the following:
I have personally witnessed TWO Kel-Tec pistols break & fail at the range. Both were 'back-up' pistols carried by local TPD cops. They now own a different brand of b/u pistol.......
I own NO Kel-Tecs. And never will.
I have the PF-9 and other than the kick it seems to be a good one. I wouldn't shoot +P ammo through it. As far as them not sending you a replacement part there's no excuse for that. I would call them everyday until I got the part I needed.

You can get a lemon from any maker. Id hate to tell you all the trouble Ive had with new guns. Check them out carefully. My KelTec Sub 2000 works great.
Either way, they sure sold alot of them, Copy or not.(something like 87,000 orders in the 1st 5 days on the market.) Can't tell you if they shoot the same, never shot the keltec, but I did shot the LCP, to small for me, I would have no need for it, we don't have ccw here in Illinois.

I love my P3AT but if you don't have CCW there isn't much other use for it. It serves it's purpose as a gun that weighs about 12 ounces fully loaded and will fit in a shirt pocket undetected. It is a gun made for up close and personal use. I am very happy with this gun and would suggest it to anyone but if you can't carry I wouldn't buy one.
