I received my CZ82 from CDNN last Friday. Took her to the range on Monday. I was a tad pressed for time, so I don't recall how many rounds I fired. I did fire Silver Bear FMJ and JHP as well as Hornady XTP HP. This sweet lady functioned flawlessly! For the first time out, accuracy was good. I was surprised it had as much perceived recoil as it did. It certainly wasn't bad and didn't hurt in the least. I just expected less. I was thrilled that the HP ammo fed without any trouble.
I did notice that my right grip moved slightly after several rounds. After cleaning, I tightened the grip but then magazines would not release. This certainly isn't major. I'll keep the screw just loose enough to allow magazines to release and apply some Loctite on the threads.
The painted "dots" on the front and rear sights are pretty weak, so I think I'll touch those up.
This is one helluva pistol! For $189.95 plus tax, shipping and FFL transfer fees, it is a steal!!!
shinerjohn I dearly love my CZ82 This little heavy duty pistol is accurate and fun as can be to shoot !!!
I've shot Winchester, Federal and Hornady through mine with the Winchester ammo being better than the Federal and The Hornady Custom hollow points being very very accurate in my CZ 82.
I actually bought 2 of them and sold one to a buddy of mine...When he got his concealed carry permit he used his CZ82 to qualify with and he was the only one that shot expert !!! LOL
AH, I can believe it! Now that I have touched up the sites, it should prove even more accurate. It amazes me the bargains in soviet bloc pistols that are available. I shoot my 9x18s more than anything else. I will never let go of my milsurps!! The fixed barrel may well be the difference. Deadly accurate!!! The recoil is just enough for me to know I'm shooting something with some power!!
I've got a CZ 82 of my own, and I love it. I think I will be coming across a Russian Makarov in 9 x 18 soon too. So we will see how that will be shooting.

All of my Makarovs shoot very well. In fact, all of my 9x18s shoot very well! The FEG PA-63, the 4 Makarovs, and the CZ-82. The CZ-82 has the best sites and the highest capacity magazine. If I had bought it first, it would possibly be my most accurate pistol. Y'all may think I'm goofy, but my most accurate pistol is the Polish P64. I know, it doesn't make sense! It has the shortest barrel, shortest sight plane, tiniest sights, but I can flat dot your eye with that puppy! I have no explanation for it. I have added Nite-Siters, but I haven't shot her since I did.
The 9x18mm round and fixed barrels are the perfect combination for this old man!
I love my CZ82, all things considered, it is a very good choice for the dollar. I wish mags would become more readily available and ammo would be stocked in more stores but I think as the pistol gains in rep.; this will happen.
Take the grips off and leave the clip in. Look how little room is in there. With the grip off look at the underside of the grip panel, you will see the backside of the screw hole. The protrusion is not round, it's flat on the side towards the back of the magazine. I took an emery board and filed the flat side down (closer to the hole). I also filed a little on the ledge taking it closer to the grip. Basically I made the stock cut wider and deeper.
This did a couple of things. It stopped the grip from hitting the backside of the magazine at the hole protrusion. That was my problem on the left grip. I did the same to the right grip. It let me slide the grip forward on the right side. The right was rubbing on the front of the magazine. Two grip problems solved with the same result. I can tighten my grips down snug now. The results are my mag falls free from the mag well with no drag what so ever.
I've got a CZ 82 of my own, and I love it. I think I will be coming across a Russian Makarov in 9 x 18 soon too. So we will see how that will be shooting.
I'm picking up my CZ-82 tomorrow and I already have a Makarov, a Bulgarian, that I bought from a member of my gun club. It shoots nicely, and when toolman gets his shop up and running, I plant to order grips from him for it.
I'm fond of the 9x18 round. At personal defense ranges, it works about as well as the 9mm Luger. Considering that's what I train for, it suits me. And my local gun shop always seems to have 9x18 in stock, where it might not with 9mm Parabellum.
I'm glad it worked for you. My grip panels are slightly warped and I originally thought that might have something to do with the sticky mags. A little investigating and experimentation and I came up with the MLN grip mod. LOL
I think it was Classic Arms I was looking at last night, they have another batch of CZ-82 in...A.H
It was Classic. Sorry no picture appeared.
