Lightbulb 03A3 Remington Date?

If the wood is good (FJA cartouche and crossed cannons?), that is a very good price. Find the barrel date and maker's initials (sometimes, but not always matches the s/n date range) stamped on the top of the barrel, just next to the front sight. If it's a Remington barrel, it should look something like this:

(front sight)

R A
6 - 4 3

I found the date where you said. It says RA
7 - 44
I found the RJA stamp on the stock and the crossed cannons.
The cannons are faint but they are there. Thanks for the help.

US Remington Model 03-A3 Serial: 34064XX

On dialup at the moment, will edit with pics by early as tomorrow. Just got it tonight and haven't been able to find much hard info on it(except for the origin story). If anyone can tell me the year/date by serial, i'd appreciate it. it's got the sloped front site and flip-up barrel mount rear site, both sites having the perpendicular reversed dovetails for adjustment/attachment-detachment. The perpendicular dovetail for the rear scope mount is still in place and the alignment marks are still visible, overall it is in VG to Exc condition. It was sporterized back in the 50's, but easily reversible with stock replacement(sporter stock installed right now). Also, i notice alot of 03-a3's have a polished bolt with blued receiver and such, but this one has blued everything, including bolt; didn't know if that was regular.

Here's my 1903

Just inherited this from my father. Can anyone help me with info on it? Appears to be low serial # which would make it unsafe from what I've read. Barrel has AV (the flaming bomb) and 1-19 stamped on it as well. Looks to be in great shape. Have the blade for the front as seen in the one picture. I don't want to sell, but curious about it's value and history. Thanks.

I was scouring all over I knew I had posted pics in the 1903 forum. Well, I did, just in the other "Lets see those Springfield" thread. Anyways, here is the official roll call sign up.

Smilth Corona 03-A3 - unissued and unfired

Serial No: C3712XXX Got it from Federal Ordnance 20 + years ago. Supposedly from some National Guard Armory if I remember correctly. The bayonet was found in Arlington, VA and is an M1905 dated 1907 and it too looks to be unissued.

Just bumping it back to the top. We need those Springfield owners that haven't seen this thread for almost 4 months to sign up!

1903

Mine appears to have been made in 1930 and re-barreled in 1943. The barrel is marked "U.S.M.C." and "11-43" with an "S" in a circle.
