Crimson Laser Grip on your XD?

Does anyone have a set of laser grips on their XD? I am looking at getting one for my .40 subcompact. I'd like some feedback on the front activated for the XD where most laser grips seem to be back activated.

I've never used the XD laser grips, but I used a set for a J-Frame and a Sig 229 on mounted blue guns in the shop. They were both front activated by the middle finger right under the trigger guard. I actually like this better because it feels more natural to me. There's also an on/off switch that's recessed in the base of the grip so the pressure switch doesn't activate all the time if you don't want it to.

My biggest beef with the Crimson Trace laser grips is that the laser is mounted on the right side and if you want to cover your target with your finger along the frame instead of on the trigger guard, you block the laser.

Question Have you considered the LaserMax?

I am totally satisfied with the LaserMax on my XD-45, 4" - less than 5 minute installation - dead on - no zero adjustment required . . . it replaces the spring rod guide. Only wish it was a green laser - better for outdoor/bright sunlight conditions - otherwise fine - no complaints.

Do they hold up replacing the guide rod? A lot of pressure of it isn't it?
