I have acquired an old Mossberg 351c/ the jack rabbit special/ western carbine, it is missing all internal workings, the bolt, springs, loading ramp exc.exc. I have the stock w/trigger, barrel and receiver. the stock is of nice walnut and the barrel and chamber are bright and shinney, the bluing is also nice. my question is do I fix it or sell it for a marlin 60 or so comparable one, I don't need another .22 but the more the merrier!! also what would it be worth in this condition.
Rimfirenut, between Numrich and Havlinsales.com, you should be able to get all the parts you need to rebuild it. The 351 carbine isn't as good a shooter generally as the earlier long-barreled rifles, but is still a fine little gun.
A complete Mossberg .22LR rifle has some value among Mossy collectors too - more so than a stripped barreled action.
