Let's get Target to sell ammo!

Saw this on another firearms forum I frequent (CalGuns) and thought it was a great idea! I'm sick of having only Cinco Grande and WalMart selling ammo in my area. Would prefer to have more places sell it!

Target Corporation Information : Contact Us : Help : Target

Just fill in the form and under subject put other. There have already been a BUNCH of people doing this, so maybe they respond...

Good idea, but I don't like your chances. What really depresses me is that even the big sporting goods chains around here don't sell anything to do with hunting or shooting. Camping, hiking, swimming, boating, exercising, even fishing--but nothing to do with evil guns.

Which is why we need to spam them with e-mails and phone calls. The good folks over at CalGuns are doing this at the moment as well :-)

I just filled the suggestion form out. Here was my comment:

"
I love Target and dislike Walmart but Walmart sells gun ammunition and Target doesn't. Then I end up buying more items at Walmart. Suddenly I shop Walmart more than Target. Can you start stocking ammo so I can give more of my business to Target?"

I think the way it actually works is that topics that are generally gun-related show up here on a regular basis. But discussions of specific makes, models, etc., usually head to their own forums. As do any topics that are heavily political.

I really don't know where else this subject could have appropriately been brought up, where anyone would have noticed it.

And neither do I Troy and Jason. This is why I posted in this forum...

With regards to Target being owned by Anti-Gunners... I know they took a beating last quarter and may be looking to expand their market share despite their personal views. You could also write to Kmart and Costco... Just a few suggestions. Pretty much any retailer besides Wal-Mart experienced a loss last quarter and I believe that even anti-gun owners may be receptive to making more money...

The Kmart stores in my area stopped carrying ammo a couple of years ago. I was in one store that was clearing out old inventory while they remodeled the Sporting Goods counter, and I picked up a pile of shells for my Mossberg 190, bolt-action 16g shotgun.

I paid about three bucks a box for them, if I remember right, and some of the boxes were so old the cardboard was fuzzy.

Given the recent performance of gun related merchandise, I would think that these retailers would be considering the improvement it could offer for their bottom line

Part of why I put this thread up here :-)

Troy, I did the same thing when the Kmart in the town I was going to school at (in Georgia) got rid of theirs. Picked up a ton of stuff at a real cut-rate price...

Target is anti gun, does not allow salvation army bell ringers, donates large sums of money to Gay and Lesbian Charities. I doubt you will ever see any ammo at target.

Troll, you took the words out of my mouth, as a matter of fact I don't shop there because of their actions.

I'm not saying that it would necessarily do anything, but writing to them and letting them know that they need to change their policy doesn't take too long if you don't have a dial-up connection. I know that over on CGN, the thread started about this is already 7 pages long with people who have sent e-mails to Target.

You don't try... you don't get if you know what I mean.

And if they don't do anything about all the people sending them feedback and suggestions...

well they're just stupid.

I refuse to step foot in a Target store. The people that run that place stand for everything I stand against. Target is anti american.

I don't really care that they are or are not at this point. Where I am... most of the stores and people are what you would consider "Anti-American". I need more places to get ammo, don't want to do that much mail order, etc because of shipping issues...

Also, what's wrong with French...? Look at the French Foreign Legion. Admittedly the French Army has a poor track record since Napoleon, but they have had their share of successes in the past. I would rather support the French than the Communist Chinese.

Just my $0.02.

I would expect someone from California to say "Whats wrong with the French?" Do you realize the French do not support us, sell weapons and technolgy to the ones who hate us. Even though we bailed the French out in WWI, WWII and Vietnam. I refuse to give one cent to them because there is a chance that penny could be used against the country I love and have fought for. Go ahead and support your enmey, I wont.
