I already got two trips to my best friends place in Michigan right off (I mean like 15 feet) the PM! It is one of the branch offs so there aren't any monsters...except during the runs! My biggest trout out of there was a 22" bow, not bad for such a remote branch!
Aw man, now I really want to go!

WOW !! A 3 1/2 lb 'bow is pretty respectable cgo !! Did you ctach it it the Arkansas River?? Want to try a foolproof way to cook trout and bass filets ?? Place each filet on a large piece of foil. Season how you like and add 1/2 a ice cube, and a small pat of butter(you could add a slice of lemon too). Fold the foil up into a very tight packet with no air in it. Make sure the edges are tightly crimped close. Now for the fun part. Put it in your dishwasher and run it in a regular cycle !! No oven heat, no greasy frying !! No 'fishy" smell to linger for hours !! Fish comes out "just" cooked and super moist !!
I got it at Johnny's Creek(big, deep and very wide) that runs along the side of the Oakdale Reservoir in CA.There were two there that I could see along the edge of the creek. When I hooked her she was full of eggs.
I went out with my brother and my nephew a couple of weeks ago Crappie fishing. We caught about 60 fish. I had some for dinner last Sunday. I can't wait until it warms up a little bit so we can go again.
