Guys, this is a story from a guy who lived in Brazil during the huge power outages. Brazil is filled with ghettos and drug lords, and on top of that some very sketchy elite police forces that some consider just a government hit squad.
This guy breaks it down, tells you how it is in modern society, and tells you what worked for him in his urban area he lived in Brazil. I think it will change your mind on a lot of things.

Now, the only good point he says about the USA maybe not being able to handle it because we are not used to suffering or used to having nothing, where in third world countries people are used to it and are maybe perhaps tougher in that regard. However, if we do have a SHTF scenario it will probably involve infrastructure failures. In fact we had those East Coast black outs a few years ago, and while it didn't last all but a few days, people still panicked in this country.
There is nothing wrong with being ready, I too honestly feel that something bad could happen and I may have to fend for myself. However, I see that as me having to go hunt for food because our infrastructure is so on the brink of failing all the time food and clean water may not get to my home or a store near me because of our failing highway and trucking system which is ungodly expensive and high maintenance.
I had posted this on this forum previously, but since this discussion is getting a bit heated I thought maybe this reading on the topic may bring some agreeableness to the table.
Oh and here goes his thoughts on guns and ammo in a SHTF situation.
