Mini-14/30 Recoil Buffer

Has anyone installed a recoil buffer in their Mini-14 or -30? Seems like it might be a good idea that also is inexpensive. In the following link, you'll see the item but you have to scroll way down the page:

Mini 14 / Mini 30 Accessories

Any thoughts or comments? Muzzle recoil reducers (and I realize they're not quite the same thing) are illegal here in Taxifornia.

Go Navy, way to go bro.. see ya sprucing up the babe that will get ya rocking I order the buffers as well... my point of view is as inexpensive they are anything that wll be able to prolong the rifle Why not! and my take on the muzzle brake if you like the look of it do it, I sure you've shot the .223 mini my doesn't recoil so much that I notice so if you like for the syemetrical overall complete look its not a bad idea... again Go for it Bro.....

Muzzle brakes are legal in Cali, but not flash suppressors. The Masen brake is legal, but the M-14 style suppressor is not. Muzzle brakes are for accurizing Mini-14s, I noticed no real reduction in recoil but my groups shrank after I put the brake on. Be careful with the recoil buffers. Most are too thick and have to be shaved thinner to ensure proper cycling of the action.

The muzzle breaks on mini's are mainly to cut down on the barrel harmonics, some folks have even cut the barrel back to 17" to cut down the group size some adding barrel struts to shore up the barrel also reported to cut patterns to groups, seems barrels are too light and adding a combo muzzle/flash hider adds more weihjy to the muzzle tightening groups.

I put a brake on my mini; i noticed both less recoil and slightly tighter groups. I would recommend doing that. Definitely legal here in Kali. The gunsmith I go to said a recoil buffer was not a bad idea either, but I haven't done that yet.
