I just got off the telephone talking to a service rep at Maverick Arms.

I ordered sling swivel studs for my new Lil Pumper. the guy I talked to was cool and willing to talk.

I told him I searched the world over for the model I bought and then ask him if they were running like crazy downthere and he said .... He exclaimed...Man we sure are !!!!

Anyway I need a sling on my Lil pumper where I can wear it for when I go on hikes and checking the woods I hunt at.

Another thing too, I ain't gonna worry about Big Foot mess'in with me anymore ! ...A.H

hey ArkansasHunter, I've been wondering about these guns for a while. I've been kindof trying to find an inexpensive shotgun for my sister who is fairly new to shooting and was wondering if Maverick is chambered in gauges other than 12. Also, will the 12 gauges take 3" shells or not.

congrats on the new shooter! tclu

tclu1308 Hi feller and yes they sell field models in different barrel lenghts that come in 20ga. and all the Mavericks come with 3" chambers. They'll readily accept 2 3/4 shells to.

As I said in one of the posts here, our Wal Mart here has or had a 20 ga. Maverick that I handled and that gun pretty much sold me on buying the 18.5" barreled Security model,,,but in 12ga. It does'nt come in 20ga. I think.

If your Interested in a single shot shotgun then check out H&R's website or if your interested in pumpactions for your Sis then I highly reccomend one of the H&R-NEF Pardner Pumpaction shotguns.

I even bought one of them last year in 20ga. with walnut stocks and there actually a better made shotgun than the Maverick, they are a little on the heavy side though.

Either one of these shotguns will serv you well, and as far as I know there the only 2 inexspensive shotguns on the market today I'd buy.

Thanks A.H

H&R Pardner Pump

This one is pretty. I actually kinda like the looks of those more square recievers.

Thanks for the ideas A.H

There is no better weapon of self defense then a 12 gauge shotgun

If guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns

I'm thinking about buying one of the new Winchester SX3's shotguns with 26" barrel and while shopping prices I noticed the H&R Pardner Pumps have increased in price some.
I paid $160.00 for mine and another member here Andrew Cockeran paid I think he said under 130 bucks for his out the door. But all the places I've looked today there running around 200 to 225 dollars.

Big ticket store's will prolly have them under 200.

The sling studs I ordered from Maverick for my new 88 are suppose to come today.

Does anyone have a tip or suggestion about drilling a pilot hole in the butt stock.

Humourous answears are welcome...

Another thing I finaly measured the barrel from the muzzel to the receiver, where the barrel is suppose to be 18.5 inches it instead measures 17 7/8 inches.

Should I assume some of the barrel thats in the receiver is measured to ?

Thanks...A.H

Barrel length for a shotgun is normally measured from the muzzle to the bolt face. Drop a cleaning rod into the muzzle with the bolt forward, mark it and measure.

Drill a hole the same diameter of the stud minus the threads. Screw in one turn, back out half turn, screw in one turn, back out half turn...etc... Use an allen wrench that fits inside the studs hole to use for a "T" lever. This will help you get it in nice and straight as it starts the threading process. Has always worked for me anyway...

i bought a mav88 security off one of my dads friends for $120, with 60 Federal 00 buck, law enforcement.
60 shells and a gun for $120 is cake, i couldnt pass it up.

however, i inquired on putting a pistolgrip forend on it, and on my model of the maverick, it isnt possible.
so i went out and got a 500a.

gutted it and tried to put the grip on, but i cant for the life of me understand how it supposed to hold onto the action bars.

i believe its the tacstar, or something, forend.
but yeah.
got my specops on there, the heat shield, wanna get the grip to work, want to get a light dangling on the front, and a weaver on top.
ill post picks once i spent all my money.

Anyway, the reason for the post, i guess, is that im basically dumping all my money into the 500, no use for the maverick.
anyone wanna buy???

give it to you for what i got it for, which is actually me losing money paying for shipping and handling.
but whatever.
$120 its all yours.
drop me a PM and we'll exchange email, ill take some pics of the gun and send or whatever.
i will need some help figuring out how to send a shotgun through the mail though. as i have never done it.

and also, it depends on how you have your laser setup.
you could have it on the front.
but im going to let you know that this gun IS NOT drilled and tapped.
so.
basically, i guess research it.

I installed the sling studs. I've got a case (see above picture) I soon will get the elastic shell loop band for the butt stock.
These HD shotguns really do need a light so I may add this later. I want to keep this gun as lite as possible so as much as I want to put a heat shield on it I'm not go to do it though it looks cool LOL

i bought i think the ATI heat shield with the built in ghost ring.
doesn't really weigh all that much.
i took the sights off thought, cause the only way i could have it set up, it was pretty inaccurate.
and i think it looks better without them.
i would recommend it though.
the first time when i was reloading, it was hot as hell.
they really do help.
