... the hell is a Tea Party?

I keep seeing news about these Tea Parties across the nation... and I have no idea what they are. Funny how the media seems to never fully explain anything to us. Anyone know what they're talking about?

Are you familiar with U.S. history?
Ever hear of the Boston Tea Party?
The talk about a national tea party simply means to send tea to your seated congressional moron as a statement. It is a sign for them to get their acts together and start working for the good of this country and stop kissing a** to their assigned political party's platform and to the narcistic presidential ayatolla.
Just don't send loose tea...make sure it's in a tea bag or its original container...lol

BTW, if you rely on the media for your information then you are most likely misinformed.

There is a political action group on the Internet called the New American Tea Party. They want tax reform and of course are referring back to that iconic 1773 event that led up to the Revolution, the Boston Tea Party. The letters calling for citizens to send their Representatives, Senators and the Obamination in the Oval Office tea bags on April 1st purport to come from them.

They say this is not something they conceived or that they are promoting. Someone - and you noticed these calls for sending teabags to DC rarely have a real name attached, didn't you? - is borrowing their name to give this political action an aura of legitimacy.

There are people out there promoting this protest. If you care, here are a couple of links to news stories and organizers who are using this idea of the Tea Party or sending teabags to politicians as a protest against the Obama tax stimulus packages that will beggar our children. Read them and decide for yourself.

ExecOutcomes, I don't think oldjarhead's remark about media TV was intended as a personal slam but was just a gripe about the slant the media puts on the news. And yes they have been pretty silent about the tea bags being sent to Congressmen and the reasons for it.

Yes indeedy, their playing field is tilted left. Notice recently how much you are reading in the print press, and on the three left networks about issues such as Sweet Barney's attack on Scalia, Pelosi and Obama both continueing to "campaign" against the right, and other issues that are either bs or unimportant, and how little is being asked about the decisions being made regarding our economy, and where in the hell any improvement can be seen, now that the "TIME CRITICAL - We MUST pass this bill IMMEDIATELY". legislation has passed. Can you say "misdirection".

I will bet someone weighs in here saying the press is neutral.

The media is too busy discussing the bus full of 30 or so losers who went to harass the AIG execs at their homes to worry about the tea parties that have hundreds to thousands of folks attending.

There are alot of them planned, get on board with one nearby and hook up with truth seekers tired of taxation without representation. The fascist news networks won't cover the real truth, or they will lose their jobs.

Protests with thousands in attendance are not covered for fear of upsetting our dear leader........
