Spike knife

Just thought I'd share some pics...I was cleaning out some boxes last week and came across this spike knife (or rope knife as I've also seen it referred as)...I had boxed this up years ago after my father passed back in 1989 and it's been in storage since...after discovering it again, looked up what I could about it...according to what limited research I found..stag handle, stainless steel blade. Has brass liners and nickel and steel caps. First introduced in 1953 (my birth year) and was in production until 1955/56 according to a site that offers info on some of the Schrade models.

Blade doesn't appear to ever have been sharpened but still has nice edge to it. Beautiful handle to it as well....

used that style knife in the navy, great for rope work.
not sure of market value but if it was your dad's it's priceless. good keepsake.

Sometimes jokingly referred to as a "rope wrench" among climbers.
