HR825 and SB425

For those small farmers, or if you grow your own food...you might want to take a look at these pieces of legislation. Basically it creates an "new" FDA under Health and Human Services that can tell you what you can and cannot use to grow food or livestock under penalty of fines and/or property seizure. Organic, (chemical free), farming will be especially affected, if not made outright illegal; even if the production is for your own use.
The House Resolution's sponser is Rosa Delauro of Connecticut. She is married to political strategist Stan Greenberg. One of his clients is the Monsanto Corporation. Other lobbyists for the legislation include Cargill and Dean's. Any time all the major "agri-giants" unite to promote a piece of legislation, it's worth looking at the legislation and asking why.

I just saw it's HR 875? This link, the title of the article is >>> HR 875 The food police, criminalizing organic farming and the backyard gardener, and violation of the 10th amendment

http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=12671

This is a bunch of crap.

To me, this and everything else being done, all seems to be aimed at controlling us. What the hell is happening to our country people?

I heard on the news today, California is looking at eliminating or not letting people own or drive black cars because they take more energy to cool off in the summer, thus using more gas! Some crap like that. Here's the info on this crap...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...032603316.html

I also heard on the news California also wants to control your thermostat, by radio? You raise it, they lower it. There is more on this out there, but I'll include this link so someone, some don't think I'm talking out my butt. Same for the one above.

http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/01/...rica/calif.php

And yes, there are those in government in Kommiefornia trying to or actually down playing this stuff. Could they be doing it because people are finally getting fed up???

Is this all about controlling us or what? I'm not sure this is truly about looking out for our well-being as much as it is controlling us?

I mentioned this in the Monsanto thread. The congress is doing the will of corporations and not the will of the people. They are making laws to aid their donors. If Monsanto gets their way, you will have to use fertilizer and pesticides they make and then you'll have to buy seeds every year, from them.
This not about safety, this is about control. The big mega farms are where all the diseases are coming from, not small gardens. Now the FCC says they can do warrant-less searches too. They are advancing rapidly on our freedoms. This is corporate fascism. Resist.
Government was instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people, and not for profit, honor or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men. John Adams

This is just stupid, and I am getting tired of those damn filthy hippies trying to fix the world. It was fine before they came along. For God's sake many of their police vehicles are black. These kind of bills just piss me off. They were written by someone who has absolutley no common sense, or awareness of the world. They just want to make a name for themselves and since they have no talents whatsoever they decide to become politicians.

Just a side note... Did anyone else think it was completely ridiculous how they got the bill to allow guns in national parks passed??? Even though I believe and support the fact that we have the right to carry in National Parks, attaching it to a bill about credit cards was kind of a liberal tactic. As I say I support our right to carry, but the way they did it is the exact reason I can't stand most liberals. They are liars, and cheaters and will do and say anything they want to get what they want. I am not saying that the conservatives don't use these kind of tactics, but once the gun representatives get it to work then the gun-control advocates will start using their sneaky tactics more and more to get what they want banned.

I am sorry... I had to vent. I am having a bad day.:ta pedshut:

WELL SAID AH

I thought this bill went away already? I am going to go till myself another garden this weekend just to spite them.

I suppose next will be having to buy our canning supplies from a black market and hiding our vegetable gardens like the dope growers do!

Batbag, its not the hippies behind this. Its the mega farms like Monsanto that want to control the food and plant supply market by making the little competition ones dry up. But yeah it gets me really worked up too!

Good links Glock buddy!

Well, I can say this: I've already started my small garden this year and just about everything has sprouted pretty good. I WILL run off anybody that tries to kick me off my property just because I have a veggie garden. IDK, to me it's just something I do to keep me busy during the summer PLUS I don't have to buy certain things from the store that might be expensive later.
