No love for mosin?

A show on snipers isn't mentioning Vassily zaistev or his rifle!

They mention the darn mauser.

The darn springfield.

The darn enfield!

THE ACCURSED CARCANO!

No mosin. They mention obscure british snipers after hitler, but no vassily zaistev slaughtering in stalingrad. What.....bias against russia.

*typical, of course, for a channel that calls the U.S Sniping doctrine 'the ultimate', while it's simply different than the russian one in the fact that it's battlefield assasination, not long range shooting*

its cause everyone knows the Mosins are the best. they just have to inform the public that there were other sniper rifles besides the mighty Mosins

No, noone knows about them except mosinites.

That's why there are still mosins in places other than gun safes, racks, and closets.

Well maybe they were merely focusing on snipers that weren't Russian, or snipers that used the MN rifle. Because if they did a whole show on Russian snipers, it would be just that, its own show and there wouldn't be any time to talk about other snipers or rifles.

Cool

A couple of the military channel's shows one on weapons and another on comanders at war did mention Vasily and his "400 cofirmed" kills including over 100 enemy snipers.

Carcano snipers? I didn't think those two terms could be used in the same sentence.

Yeah, it was mentioned. We must demand a show on vassily and his mosin!

*i was suprised that the carcano was mentioned....sure, it was used on kennedy....but, it deserved a mention, and not the nagant! - which was used in place of the carcano as a prop in a quick clip of the assasin taking aim....*

Uhh...

not sure it is the case here, but sometimes...

the less attention drawn to one thing or another, the better it is for those who appreciate the lesser attended to.

We still need a military channel documentary or atleast a mention. The enfield and mauser are getting too much action on that channel (in the class of WW2 relics).

We've been living in a small, enclosed mosin world, where variety is at the most an SKS or AK.

Gee my first post and I get to talk about my favorite Sniper. Lyudmila Pavlichenko.

309 Kills and has been actually credited with 325 before she was removed from the front lines because she was wounded in action.

And yes I said SHE. The Russians considered her such a National Treasure she was not returned back to action for fear she would be killed.

She toured here in the U.S. as a special guest of Pres. and Mrs. Roosevelt and was also presented with a special Presentation Model 70 from Winchester and it still sets in the War Museum in Moscow.

One heck of a lady, and nice to look at also.

Best wishes, Bill

I would rather the legendary Mosin truely come into it's own a few years from now when my collection reaches high double digits, and then.....I am told, Sir you have a real treasure there. For now, I would rather pick them up as inexpensive as possible, knowing I have something of true historical value, and perhaps in the future $alue.
