I recently bought a used shotgun from one of my dads friends.
i basically just want someone to confirm that this is or is not a maverick 88.
everyone i talk to about it has no idea.
all black, 18.5" barrel
brass-looking bead in on top fore-most part of barrel
on the side it says Maverick arms inc.
chambered for 2 3/4 and 3 in. shells
-12 ga- 18 1/2 cylinder bore
my dad says that its just an offbeat shotgun.
but from all the research i did, i do believe its a mossberg.
i may be wrong, though.
if it is, ill be excited to see that i can actually get all the accessories that i was looking at online.
All the accessories for the Mossberg 500 should be compatible with the Maverick shotgun. The only real difference that I know of is the location of the safety. (cross bolt vs. on the top slide)
