Can a Mini 14 accept AR Mags?

Im asking for my cousin and i both who dont know if they will, also its the ranch model if the model makes a difference.\

No. I wish they could. The mags will fit but they won't engage and stay. Years ago, I heard that there was a universal mag made as an aftermarket item but I never saw one.

Thanks mr squeeze, it was buggin my cousin because he cant seem to find any mini mags but see's the AR's everywhere haha

AR mags are too wide and there's a lot of grinding and drilling to get them to work. Ruger's web site has them, and they're shipping out 30 round mags, too. You can get mags made by Promag for about half the price of Ruger's. Get the metal ones, the plastic ones aren't very good.

Ramline made a 30 that fit both. Not terrible but noted for spewing out all the rounds if dropped or mishandled.

As long as they are used in an AR a mini 14 will NOT accept them. sam.
