well i dont know anything about range finders, and im going to buy one for the first time ever, has anyone used a nikon prostaff 550? are tehy any good? i really just want it so i can judge shots up to 250-300 yards. ive come to the conclustion that i personaly cant eyeball it.
will this fit my needs?

Mike, I don't have the 550, but I have the monarch 800. Not much difference between them. One of my buddies has the 550, and both the 550 and 800 will range about the same, the 800 may range slightly longer distances, but both will range trees out to 550yds. My opinion, they are the best of the budget class rangefinders.
