| 9mm or shotgun I have a norinco 12 gauge short barrel i got new for 179.00. you have to take the spring outr of the magazine so you can 5+1 it. I was gonna get a 9mm hi point carbine but it is outlawed here in kalikorny.they go for under 200.00 not as accurate as a scoped 30.06 but it aint for that.I still want one have to go out of state to get one, magazines are expensive 6 will cost same as gun,lol so i hope i made that clear as mud. |

I have all three of the guns mentioned and as much as I love the Hi-point, I would not recommend it over any 12 gauge. Not to discredit its effectiveness, but there are so many things a scattergun can do that a 9mm can't.

Remember to VOTE OUT your local California Incumbants in the California Congress.
Write lots of letters about getting a reduction in the stupid gun laws.
We all know that Arnold is PRO-GUN!!
And he really likes Class 3 stuff
Maybe we could put a few dozen Terminators at the southern borders??

I know the hi points are cheap, but skip it for a beretta cx4 storm. Parts and magazines are cheaper, hold more, and the quality is high.
I would also stick to the 12 guage, as it is more useful. A 9mm carbine is more of a fun gun, as the 12 guage is better for home defense and can also be used for different hunting activities.
The 9mm carbines do have their place, as I have one that shares mags with my beretta 92fs. The added velocity makes the 9mm rounds move pretty fast downrange.

The bottom line is you want a Hi-Point Model 995, not for big game hunting; but can't buy one in California because it's on the verboten list there. You're grumbling that you'll have to go out of state to buy one, and you aren't happy that six magazines will cost as much as the basic carbine.
Any errors in translation? Just consider that punctuation would have helped. And run-on sentences do get in the way of getting your meaning across.

Well, theoretically you can make the Hi-Point CA legal with the installation of a 'bullet button device', perhaps remove most of the magazine catch, permanently cover with a washer type item with a hole only large enough for a allen wrench or similar tool to activate... Of course finding an FFL who will bring it into CA will be the issue.

I have the Pardner Pump, turkey hunting model.21", 5+1, camo, fiber optic sights (tru-glo) and I stuck a limbsaver recoil pad on it. Total with sling & pad about $250. I'd buy another one, it works good.

NEF/H&R/Marlin (or we could make this easy and just call them all Remington, as
Remington owns all of the previously mentioned) makes excellent firearms,
12GA beats 9mm any day, and your less likely to get a friendly through the walls ceiling or floor if you miss. (I would use my dads single shot 12GA over my simi-auto rifle any day interior home defense.)
as for the Pardner pump being a 870 clone
^
NEF/H&R pardner pump ( $226.73)
^
Remington 870 ($383)
well, at least they use the same stock.

Not a whole lot a 12 ga CAN'T do in hands that know what they're doing.

I tear down every thing I buy so I know them inside and out. The 870 is a couple of pins and you have it apart for heavy cleaning or repair. Most shotguns are a bear to tear down and put back together. Stick with the tried and true and you will be miles ahead in the long run.

Just joking!!!

To the question. Go for a 12 guage. If you can afford, get an extra "rifled" barrel for saboted slugs.

I wouldn't 100% trust a 9mm to do this...

I know that...I have a 995, I may do some tests myself, but from casual shooting I don't see a huge difference between the carbine and pistol velocity or "power"...I think the carbine has it's place, but if I could have only one I would grab one of my Mossbergs without a doubt.
