Pheasant Hunting in Iowa

A few of my buddies and I from Michigan are interested in hunting pheasants this fall (2009) in Iowa.
We don't have an interest in hunting lodges and packages, but rather we want to know if anyone knows a farmer who offers accommodations and hunting on his land.
Any information on this is appreciated.

Thanks from Michigan.

Well I can say is Welcome! The bird population was really really down the 2008 season .It was sad around here and I consider this the better part of bird hunting Middle section . Way Out in the Western counties=N.W Iowa had it better . I Myself do not see the population going up that much this year around the N.E -Eastern central sections.

But One never knows--Most Farmers are A-ok If you ask first and respect there land .

I'm from Indiana..moved to Iowa a little over a year ago...lot of great public hunting land here but as millwright said, the farmers are generally open to allowing hunting...depends on the area...
