Looks like a reasonably priced kit for those who have not prepared one on their on.

Not too bad, they have some interesting food buckets as well.

Looks like a good thing to carry in your car or store in your house against an extended power outage, post-natural disaster scenario or civil disorder scenario. I'd want to add some multivitamins to it, however; although they'd have to be replaced periodically.

A good quick-start for a short-term emergency kit for those who are coming in late to the game. BUT - will they continue to build on it?

might be handy, though i have my doubts about that Swiss Army hatchet, like how it would hold up under extended use.

i think that any one that buys one should try out all the contents for function, utility and ease of use.

Crikey, how much salt content does the food have? Been looking for some low salt MRE's.

Man I could not even begin to know that answer. I just saw it on their site while ordering a Lobster/clam bake. I do not know much about them except everything I have ever ordered from Costco has been pretty quality. It seems a bit cheaper than other places for bulk food I have found. Typically, items like this are a bit lower in salt than a MRE but again, I do not know for sure what the salt contact is.

Most foods intended for any real storage or shelf time do have a lot of salt - it's a preservative. You get other nifty chemicals too.
That's why many preppers like using basic LTS foods - rice, wheat, etc. But, they take a lot more preparation.

So you decide which meets your needs best. I store a good variety of foods, some for shorter term emergencies (hurricane season) and others for long-term.

You can get the five-gallon orange 'homer buckets' at Home Despot, and make you own prepper buckets - likely cheaper than those at Costco (and no need to get a membership!). Store those foods you like and know your family will eat. Eliminate the things that you know are useless for you.
Don't forget basic meds and anything special a particular family member may need.
