My Survival Kit and Survival Knife

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forums and just looking for some feedback on this blog post I wrote about the survival kit I created. I haven't even been camping since I was a scout, but something sparked a new interest in survival and I figured this was the first step. Thanks.

Welcome,

I too have both the LMF and the Seal Pup. I agree with your evaluation of the knives. In comparison, the LMF is a tank. I wouldn't hesitate to baton the LMF through a piece of wood. I tend to use the Seal Pup for more of a hunting knife than anything else. It is very lightwieght compared to the Gerber and doesn't seem like it would be near as durable. Different knives for different purposes.

Howdy, Mddubs! Welcome to G&G.

I'm a big proponent of getting out into the woods and trying out my camping/survival gear. A quick 'over-nighter' can show you how well most items will work, a good weekend outing is even better.
I have the local National Forest as my 'backyard', but there is probably a good place near you.

Yeah the LMF II is a beast. Have you seen this clip ...

I'm not planning on chopping any concrete with it but I'm glad to know I can

...

BigDog, thanks, I'm planning on trying to get something together this summer. I'll probably wait till I move back east. I hate Illinois, I can't go to the range and rent a gun to shoot without getting a FOID card. Bullshit. Can't wait to move back east.
