10/22 mods

just bought a 10/22 baseline carbine version and a scope, was wondering what mods i should do to improve acuraccy. i thinking a thumbhole stock (comfortable to me), a trigger, and barrel. i know i can spend a lot of money but am looking to go kinda cheap (as long as quality isn't compromised).

any tips would help.

First get acquainted with it. Then after you're familiar with it add a Power Custom Hammer, a "roll yur own" bolt release and bolt buffer and either an after market mag release or modify the existing alum factory release. None of this has to be expensive unless you want it to be.

Mag Release on the cheap & easy via the dremel....

OR

A mag release that functions with easy and remains aluminum rather than vinyl

Or

A bolt buffer that will out live a newborn can be made of simple 1/4" fuel line from your hardware store. Unless you like paying 5.00 /per in. for polyurethane rod from a vendor.

Save your money for a Green Mtn Barrel or equivalent and drive some tacks.

Afterall it's at least half the fun!!!!!

If you search the net you well find all the DIY info you need to mod your oem parts for better performance. Have the barrel re-chambered to a match chamber and keep the rest original, you can make a stock appearing 10/22 shoot as well as the high priced full aftermarket guns. Most of the mods done have little to do with the acuracy of the gun, it's to benifit the shooter.
