how old is this 30-40 ammo?

How old do you think this stuff is? Anyone know?

I haven't seen the term "full patch" in a long time. I think "ball" replaced it in the early fifties. I believe that box is commercial ammo not Gov't issue. anyway they all look in good shape. probably worth a couple of hundred times more now than when it was originally bought.

what does full patch mean? I have about 5 boxes of this stuff, if there worth anything, I might sell them on gunbroker.

You might laugh, but I took one of the bullets to the range with me when I shot my krag the other day just to see if they would work. There was a 1 second delay between trigger pull and ignition!

They are August 1930 I believe. You could possibily get $30 to $40 a box from collectors.

I think that says 8-20, August 1920. Look at the lower right hand corner of the box. Of course that's usually a print date for the box, so they may be a couple months newer than that, tops.

Just took alot of pictures of this for a auction site and one of the guys showed me how to date most of the US Military ammo. Can in handy.

full patch is the old term for full metal jacket
