As long as you have a lock on it, I don't think anyone would have a problem with it. Remember, Auto-Ordnance makes a violin case in the finest Chicago Typewriter tradition to store one model of their M1928 semi-auto carbine in, and that's legal. As long as you don't try to carry it in New York City, or into one of the gun-free zones, you should have no trouble. But when in doubt, ask the county sheriff. That office should know.
