This thread is still around? I reload and shoot as much as I want, but I have seen tons of ammo available for retail sale lately.

.22 for $35 a brick !!!

Was at the local gun show last week. Was looking at my usual
tables for cheap .22. Did not seem to be much out there. So I
went to the expensive guy, that I usually do not purchase from. He
was selling Aguila standard velocity for THIRTY FIVE BUCKS a brick.
I asked him why, caus this is more then double what I used to pay for it.
He said something about there being a shortage of .22 right now,
and everybody was taking a bite. Surplus military stuff, while more
expensive then a year or so ago, seemed "reasonable" , and 12ga
seemed a bit hard to find...hmmmmm makes you wonder dont it..

I stopped at a Walmart in Murrieta, CA last week; they had 50-rd boxes of Winchester.223 for about $23.00.

Troy isn't level-headed; troy is flat broke.

As my dad told a persistent salesman one time who wouldn't take no for an answer. "Listen, mister. It doesn't matter how good a deal it is; I'm broke. If you were selling Cadillacs for a hundred dollars a dozen, right now I couldn't afford a matched pair."

But I bought a box anyway.....

I don't understand. I have more 223 and 5.56 plus 22LR ammo on the shelf than I know what to do with. I just got another 5,000 Rem. UMC yesterday and had to backstock it. about the only thing I'm out of is 380 and 38 special. (only receiving small, sporadic shipments)

Still no 380, 45LC, or 10mm to be had around here. I have 45 and 10mm components here, so it's not a problem, YET !!

deadzero, you need to load up one of those featherweight trailers that has living quarters in front, and get all our addresses and sweep the country for the areas that have the hoarders so regular people can get ammo. LOL.....
Do you take discover?

Well, if they still have some, ammoman.com has Prvi-Partizan 62gr. .223 for $399 shipped for 1000rds. Not as cheap as it use to be, but better then most places and, last I checked, yesterday, it was still available...

My theory is the are shorting the big city market but us fellas in the boon docks can get what ever we want . Its the same here deadzero you can buy anything your heart desires . Short of 380 but I don't shoot the baby 9mm round anyway so I could careless. I can still buy 22lr for $19.99 a brick at one of my dealers . I smell price gouging if people are charging $35.00 a brick .

I've been a .223 reloadin' fool. I've got primers, powder, and lead, so every casing I use (as long as it's good) goes back to the cause. The cause ain't short yet.

Here's a decent price (for the times) for 1000rds. of lake city 55gr.. If no one bids and you get it for the $375 starting bid, without shipping it's .37 .5 cents per round and with the $35 bucks flat rate shipping it then comes to .41 cents around. Your call, but hey, it's out there...

plenty of ammo

Dude, go to classicarms.us and they have plenty of .223 right now. They also have the green tip penetrator, along with FMJBT's. I suggest you go there asap. After I post this they'll get swamped. Also places like Samco Arms should have it if Classic Arms has it. Classic Arms just gets less internet traffic. Great people to business with ! ps---the prices are way less than cheaperthandirt.com
