Tactical Bacon - a SHTF must-have

I found this on youtube and I was blown away. How many of you have this in your bug-out bags?

Now we have "Surpremely Viable Tactical Bacon" to go with the "Surpremely Viable" 10/22. You gotta love it.

I had a friend bring some canned bacon when we were camping. It was salty but it was really good. A 10 year shelf life is great....

The older British Army rat packs included canned Baconburger, very popular stuff.

This kid is hilarious...he keeps going off on the grease. IT'S BACON!!! What did you expect, grease-less, dehydrated bacon???

Wow, a new wrapper on an old idea...canned bacon has been around for a long time, my grandpa used to can bacon for hunting trips!

Wow. Not a bad idea for a survival situation. At the very least, definately a morale booster over canned peas!

Yes, and this is especially so with you have a freaked-out family looking to you for support. Crack open a can of this stuff and at least you'll have a few minutes to think!

Right before she died, my mother in law gave me several packages of cooked bacon slices that didnt need refrigeration. I assume they were irradiated. When popped into the microwave they weren't great, but they were perfectly acceptable; about what you'd get at the average truck stop.

$12.50 a can!
Holy crap!
You can buy Oscar Mayer pre-cooked bacon for less than $3 and vacuum pack it in a can yourself for much less than what they want.
But then I notice it's CMMG and I understand why it's so expensive...NOT a good deal!

How long does Oscar Meyer pre-cooked last??

It's also 20 slices per pack, if I remember...TacBac is 45 slices that lasts for 10 years...

But there are cheaper alternatives Like Yoder's Canned Bacon. Which is about $9 a can if you buy it per case. Wonder if Sam's Club has it?? Probably be cheapest there
SHOP AROUND...folks have this from 8.75 to 13.00 a CAN!! It's cheapest at the actual Yoder's Store in Shipshewanna, Indiana...so if you are close, it pays off.

Which...from the look of it, is being repackaged by CMMG

Now, with Yoder's or CMMG's, you NEED to heat it...for no other reason than it is the fastet way to get the grease off. It is packed HEAVILY in bacon grease...the upside??? Use the bacon grease to cook Eggs in...try it, you'll LIKE it!! Lots of things taste better cooked in Bacon Grease

But yer heart doctor won't like it

I also have to admit, I like the Hungarian can better...it opens up like an old Spam Can Which makes it a LOT easier to get the bacon out.
