Rough day of duck hunting

Went duck hunting yesterday. We got lucky, first out of the draw for some prime ground.
That's where the luck pretty much ended. We shot poorly. I couldn't believe it. My buddy hit a mallard drake @ 35~40 yds with 12ga 3" Winchester Supremes # 2's. The feather flew, he looked like he was going to fold, I hit him one more time just for good measure, & he just flew away!

The othe few opportunities we just missed

I did get a heck of a work out. The last 250 yds to the blind was flooded millett. About knee high. This kills an outboard prop in a second. Put on the waders, get out and push the boat. ****, I'd like to get a Go Devil.

My son shot his first duck, well sorta. Some coots swam a bit close to the edge of the blocks. It's legal to "Arkansas" so we let him take one. They are not bads eating. (they eat vegitation) breated him out, rolled in cracker crumbs and made a sandwich.

Think we'll try it again tomorrow. Glutton for punishment LOL
