Vanguard Bolt Recall

Don't know if you guys are aware of it, but Weatherby has issued a safety recall on the Vanguard bolts for rifles made from 1970 to 1993. You can read all about it on their website.

As a sidenote, I've been looking to get a 243 and the choices were down to Weatherby and one other. While some may see a recall as a bad thing, the fact that they owned up to it and are willing to take care of it on guns they put out decades ago no matter who owns it just won me over and I'm going with the Weatherby.

Weatherby has a decades long reputation for

quality. This recall is a surprise but it should not affect your decision.

It would not affect me in any way should I be planning to buy a Weatherby.

The .243 Winchester is one of my two favorite cartridges.

Don't worry - enjoy a great gun.
