I have one at home. I have one flying over the outside door of our warehouse. I have one on the wall of my office. I have one on the back of my car. I have one on my Hard Hat when and if I need to wear one when I go to our Job sites.

I don't have that many, but I fly it proudly! We also have a Navy and Marine flag in the shop, along with a Blue Star Mother's flag, a Support the Troops flag, a Vietnam Veteran's flag, and assorted other flags! We like to show what we stand for,and our customers love it!

I was flying ol' glory until to wind storm a few months ago brought my flag pole down. Haven't had a chance to replaced it yet.

Unfortunately no. I moved and have not put up a pole or anything at the place I am renting yet. Maybe I need to get on that this weekend.

I was talking to my wife about this literally just 2 days ago. We need to get a new one. Thing is, it has to be an indoor one, (we have a condo and we can't attach anything to the outer walls) but, we have a cat and I will not risk him damaging it. And that boy can climb.

So we're mulling over a nice place for a smaller one. Maybe a little decorative shelf or something in our home office. And we need to decide if we want one with the eagle topper, or the spike.

It's a very nice flag, after all. One of the more distinctive in the world, I think.

Oh...here's someone in town very serious about it: 7076 W Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV - Google Maps

Double-click it again for a street view.

I don't, but after all it is not my flag right....
and even if I should do it for my kids (they are American citizens) I rather teach them to respect the symbols of the country before.
And without offending anybody, sometimes I do think that a national flag (yours, mine, theirs) deserve a lot more respect. I totally disagree with the "display" of this guy shown to us by Coeloptera.
Just my humble (dumb maybe !?!) opinion....

I took down an old antennae a few weeks ago and saved the pole to put up as a flag pole. It will be a whole project as I will want to put lights and everything on it so I can leave it up all the time.

I was considering flying the "Dont Tread On Me" flag as well.

I don't know you, or where you are from, but the greatest thing about this Country is that if you are here legally, and are proud to be here, none of the rest of us will have any issue with you flying old Glory or calling yourself an American.

But, I do agree with you about the respect of the flag. I see kids with flags on their pants, stars and stripe colored shorts, etc. Those things used to be taboo. Actually, some of it is against the law, although it would never be enforced. I'm a traditionalist. Too many people died under those colors for it to be treated as anything but sacred.

I wouldn't have any problem flying a flag as my wife and kids are American.... I am French and I am here legally and as I love this country and the people, I am happy and honored to be able to work and live here (and pay my taxes too ) I cannot think of myself as an American (yet ...). My wife does think that I have turned into a redneck sometimes .... maybe that kind of qualify me...
Sorry for the little off topic.... let's go back on track !

No i do not fly the flag but might one day provided that it is next to my national flag too....

If the Obama campaign can fly a Che Gueverra flag in their office, you're damn right you can fly the flag of France next to old Glory if you want to. LoL But there are rules about it. flagpole heights, orientation, which one is to the flags own right, etc.

I have a large flag that hangs outside on the front porch in the summer, and occupies a section of wall in my living room during the winter.

No shame at all!

Well I am aware of the rules... not sure exactly what they are, but right now I am not really worried about that.
My guess is that 2 national flags fly at the same height to start ... anyway

I have a red white and blue item in every room in my house, and I pay the Boy Scouts to put a flag in my yard on all appropriate holiday's. A great deal they get the money and I get a flag to show my love for this country.

My mom and dad have a flag pole outside their house. When my dad was healthy, he'd raise "Ole Glory" at sunrise and take her down just before sunset. God bless him.

This song has always said it all for me. Johnny Cash did a couple of versions, but this is the original I think.

Yes, this. The protocols are relatively specific and are, I think, a basic show of respect to where you are living now, but also a reminder of your heritage and origin. I always find that sort of thing very nice and very much what the USA tries to be, a bridge between where you came from and where you are.

Ah, here we are: Flag Rules and Regulations

If you want them at equal heights, you just cross them. USA flag on the viewer's left, staff in front of the other while within US territory.

Or, you fly them from separate staffs of equal height.

I better never see a flag from France flying higher than an American flag on this country's soil! ..... Any other flag for that matter!

whaaaaat?

I have a flag in my office, came with the office. It is a very old school room flag that was probably from the 1940s. It is old and very faded. I bet lots of kids pledged allegiance to it every day.

I work for a school system doing IT stuff and they gave me a class room for an office in one of the school buildings. It came with a shelf, a flag and a bunch of old school trophies that are proudly displayed along the walls. Some of the trophies date back to the 1920s.
